Thomas Mangold founded the firm that has grown into The Mangold Group in 1991 after spending over seven years in accounting and management roles at one of the largest national retailers. After graduating from the University of Texas in 1993 Thomas spent two years at one of the largest world-wide accounting and consulting firms before setting out to grow The Mangold Group into one of Austin’s top 25 CPA firms.
Thomas Mangold is a Certified Information Technology Professional, a unique credential designed specifically for the CPAs who have a wide range of documented IT competency. A CITP provides an organization with someone who can translate technical information into results-oriented business language that key decision makers can understand.
Thomas’ hands-on approach to problem-solving and a personal interest in each client’s success is the driving force behind The Mangold Group. As the founder, CEO and President of the firm, Thomas Mangold personally monitors every engagement.
When Thomas is not practicing accounting, he is piloting his airplane, wakeboarding, biking, or fishing.

An experienced veteran of providing accounting and tax services to clients, Marlene brings a wide range of experience which equips her to anticipate and avoid problems before they occur. For more than 20 years she has worked with clients of all sizes and industry types, including retail, construction and professional services. She is proficient with multiple accounting software applications, day-to-day accounting procedures, and state and federal reporting requirements.
As a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania and Indiana since 1990, Marlene has managed several offices with responsibilities of hiring, training, and supervising. Marlene's continued commitment to ongoing education is evident as she accumulates CPE credits, certifications, and licenses. She moved to Texas in 2006.
Marlene is an active volunteer in the Austin community through the Westlake Rotary Club and her church.

Gary L. Annis has been a CPA licensed in Texas since 1976. Following his service in the Army Finance Corps, Gary spent three years at an international public accounting firm and several more years at regional accounting firms, then established and managed his public accounting practice for twenty-five years. Gary Annis brings a comprehensive array of all tax, accounting, and advisory services. He has worked in multiple automated accounting systems. Gary specializes in federal and state income tax planning and compliance for all entity types and individuals. When needed, he offers client representation in IRS disputes. One such engagement was winning a case against the IRS in Federal Court in front of William Wayne Justice. Gary offers a strategic, proactive tax and accounting approach to partner in clients’ growth.
Gary’s recreational interests are fishing, poker and travel.
